Highway Maintenance

We would encourage villagers to report any issues they spot with road markings and furniture to North Yorkshire Council(NYC). We recently flagged that the Barkston Ash sign on the right hand side of the road as you approach the village from Sherburn, between the railway bridge and Kids Planet. Half of the metal sign was in danger of being ripped off by the wind, this could have caused significant damage and injury. NYC responded immediately and the sign has been fully secured.
